MEET your guide, Gerard Benjamin, near the entrance to NEW FARM LIBRARY, 135 Sydney Street, for this 90-minute walk to view sites in Brunswick St, Bowen Tce and Merthyr Rd, along with peeks at Langshaw, Moray and Moreton Sts.

Among the gems to be seen are the Holy Spirit Church, Wynberg, Hamel, and Red Ted’s house, plus we’ll recall homes long gone such as Coolden, the Japanese House, Linden, Tullibardine, and many more.

This amble will offer captivating insights into the social history of this, one of Brisbane's oldest suburbs, as well as some of the prominent people who once lived here.

The walk finishes at Merthyr Village, New Farm, the perfect spot to enjoy a cuppa with other participants.

Your tour guide will be Gerard Benjamin, author of Reflections on New Farm and Homes with History, as well as the current popular book, New Farm: 50 Stories.
