NSW CAPO is holding engagement sessions with Aboriginal communities all over NSW to talk about Closing the Gap in NSW. These sessions will:
- Share information about how local Aboriginal communities can make Closing the Gap work for them.
- Give communities the chance to give feedback on the work being done in NSW to implement the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.
The National Agreement on Closing the Gap was signed by all Australian Government in 2020. It marked a momentous shift in the way governments approach Closing the Gap – from focusing only on gaps and targets, to genuinely sharing decision-making with Aboriginal people and embedding the Priority Reforms to transform government.
The Priority Reforms are the real game-changer of the National Agreement. They are:
- Partnership and shared decision-making
- Building the community-controlled sector
- Transforming government
- Data
- Employment and economic prosperity (NSW-specific)
