Does your child often say "I can't" or easily get discouraged when faced with challenges? Our "No Big Deal" workshop, designed for children aged 6-12, is all about empowering them to shift their mindset from "I can't" to "I can keep trying!"
In this incredibly engaging and creative session, kids will learn the powerful "Catch, Challenge, and Change" strategy. This simple yet effective tool helps them identify and transform those negative thoughts that can stop them from trying or make them want to give up. Forget boring lectures – this workshop is packed with hands-on fun! Children will design and build their very own unique "Thought Catcher" through a blend of imaginative design, loose parts construction, and weaving.
As they create their Thought Catcher, we'll guide them to understand how to challenge unhelpful thoughts and replace them with empowering ones. They'll leave not only with a fantastic piece of art but, more importantly, with a practical skill set to cultivate a resilient, "can-do" attitude. This workshop helps kids see that setbacks are truly no big deal when you have the right tools to navigate them. No prior art experience is needed, just a big imagination and a willingness to embrace new ways of thinking!

NOTE: This workshop is a part of our Mistake Maker Camp. These are based on the incursions we have been running in schools for years. The camp is offered as four stand alone half day workshops at $80 a session. Please note, The Maker Space is a secure tenancy in Floreat Forum. Doors will be secured and children will be supervised at all times. Children will be escorted to a toilet by our staff with access to an ambulant toilet (one person access at a time) which our staff will wait on the outside of the door.
