I am Celia Roberts, a Senior yoga teacher and therapist with Yoga Australia and Meditation Australia, and among other qualifications, I have a Bio-Medical Science degree.

My education and experience combined has brought me to a place where, above all else, I believe in offering you the highest quality education. This is done through continually revisiting and reinvestigating research, resources, values, and touchstone delivery of teaching in the field of yoga, meditation, and mind-body medicine.

I am inspired by truth, trust, connection, education, mindful living and people from all walks of life. Moreover, I am passionate about the ongoing development of BIYOME’s innovative, evidence-based yoga and meditation teacher training programme, tracing classical Yoga, Vedic and Buddhist meditation from its ancient historical origins to now. The constantly emerging research heavily supports these ancient traditions, and the BioMedical Institute of Yoga and Meditation, BIYOME (bi-yo-me), is here to reveal the light behind these wisdom traditions.

Experiencing the benefits of Yoga and Lifestyle Medicine both personally and professionally, Celia Roberts has seen many yoga teacher training students transformed in their own practice and commitment to health and well-being. As such, Celia has dedicated herself over the past two decades to enhancing compassionate education and innovation within the Lifestyle Medicine industry.

Beginning her journey by setting up international health communities, Celia gained immense knowledge and understanding of many cultures and the ability to build compassionate rapport with all those she works with. Moreover, Celia began to recognise the need to focus on therapies that brought together complete understanding of the body and mind. As such, Celia Roberts began her first teacher training group in her own country home with 20 students and not long after she initiated teaching a second group in Toowoomba. Celia’s journey continued as the co-founder of YIMI – the Yoga and Integrative Medicine Institute, promoting health and well-being as the Head Senior Teacher and Supervising Mentor for the institute. In the last decade, Celia has personally trained and mentored over a thousand yoga & meditation teacher trainers in Australia and worldwide.

Throughout her journey as a yoga teacher and therapist, Celia Roberts has travelled and taught worldwide, been a regular presenter on ABC Radio, liaised with government, councils and higher educational institutions to promote the work of yoga teachers across our Nation. Celia is an engaging public speaker and well received conference presenter and has achieved great results in the business sector for over two decades with a strong focus on Corporate Yoga and Mindfulness education.

Celia has worked for industry leaders such as ABC Radio, the Australian Federal Police, the Clinical Forensic Medicine Unit, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (Japan), the University of Queensland, Lifeline, Vera Women’s Wellness, Queensland University of Technology, Human Genetics Conference, and the Yoga Australia Conference to name a few. Over the years, Celia has also worked as a volunteer in leadership roles for the national governing body of yoga in Australia, Yoga Australia; these include the Queensland State Co-ordinator and Chair of The Yoga Australia Conference 2016. Celia has also been instrumental in the innovative field of yoga therapy within Australia, being a valued member of the AAYT committee 2014-15. Additionally, Celia has founded yoga by donation programs in Japan and Australia – Tsukuba Community Yoga and Grass Roots Yoga respectively.

With a passion for compassionate focused therapy, and as a registered senior yoga teacher and registered yoga therapist Celia Roberts has personally trained and privately mentored, inspired, informed, and impassioned yoga and meditation teachers for over a decade. Moreover, with qualifications in Biomedical Science, meditation, Ayurveda, nutrition and dietetics, psychosomatic medicine, counselling, and integrative medicine, and with her love and dedication for yoga teacher training, Celia Roberts opened the Upper Brookfield Retreat Centre in 2014. In the middle of the most beautiful and natural surroundings, this yoga teacher training and treatment centre now facilitates a new concept in yoga teacher training, heavily grounded in evidence-based research. Now known as the founder of BIYOME – The BioMedical Institute of Yoga and Meditation – Celia & faculty provide registered qualifications in all levels (Provisional to 1000hr Therapy) of:
