Tides and Transformation features works by Angelina Mirabito and Samuel Galloway, created during their artist residency at The Gladstone in Fishermans Bend, alongside contributions from other local artists connected to the area.

Rooted in place and process, this exhibition explores themes of repurposing, transformation, and environment, responding to the unique character and layered history of Fishermans Bend — a landscape shaped by industry, erosion, and renewal.

Through sculpture, installation, and mixed media, the works reflect how materials and spaces can be reimagined, revealing the quiet strength of adaptation and the beauty of change.

The Gladstone will be hosting resident social drinks on the evening, and will also be offering two guided tours at 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM. Come along to experience the vibrant community at The Gladstone - explore our beautiful resident spaces, wellness amenities, and room layouts. No need to book, just join a tour on the night and see what makes The Gladstone feel like home!

About the Artist

Melbourne-based artist Angelina Mirabito brings a background in Creative Writing (PhD) and a practice shaped by her Italian heritage. Also using unconventional materials and tools—palette knives, sticks, hands, and ladles—she builds layered surfaces that translate internal experiences into vibrant, tactile paintings. Her work explores the intersection of emotion, movement, and materiality, drawing attention to the physical and sensory depth of abstract expression.

The exhibition and all events are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all visitors.
