Eventbrite Partners With Openair Cinemas to Bring Disney+ Drive-In To Life

Eventbrite and Openair Cinemas join forces to present the world’s most-loved films in a contemporary take on the nostalgic drive-in format

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — October 22, 2020 — Eventbrite (NYSE: EB), a global ticketing and event technology platform that powers millions of events each year, has been selected by Openair Cinemas to power ticketing for Disney+ Drive-In.

This exciting event series offers movie fans in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne the opportunity to enjoy more than 30 Disney classics and recent releases – from Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, Walt Disney Studios and the recently acquired Twentieth Century Fox – all from the comfort of their own car.

Designed with attendee safety at top of mind, all Disney+ Drive-In sessions feature contactless ticket scanning on entry, contact-free snacks and drinks delivery, along with hand-washing and hand sanitising stations.

Eventbrite’s General Manager, Asia Pacific, Josh McNicol said the partnership sees two forward-thinking brands join forces to present an experience that will delight fans of all ages.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Disney+ Drive-In to help bring the magic of cinema to life in this contemporary take on a nostalgic format,” McNicol commented. “From contactless entry to mobile food ordering, every aspect of this event has been meticulously planned with attendee safety in mind. With a new, COVID-safe operating model for event organisers to be delivering, we’re proud to be supporting the Disney+ Drive-In team to deliver a live experience that can be confidently and safely enjoyed by movie fans across the country.”

Marine Grangier, Marketing Manager and Film Programmer at Openair Cinemas said the Eventbrite platform was a great fit for the event.

“We’ve only had a few weeks to bring Disney+ Drive-In to life and Eventbrite’s ready-to-use features allowed us to go out to market quickly,” Grangier said.

“We’ve been pleasantly surprised with how comprehensive yet simple using the platform is, both from the customer’s and organiser’s perspectives.”

After a successful opening in Brisbane, Disney+ Drive-In kicks off this week in Sydney with 82 percent of tickets sold before gates open. Melbourne will follow, with information on location and dates to be announced shortly. To view the full program of events and purchase tickets, visit openaircinemas.com.au/drive-in
